DSW taps Sarah Crockett as CMO

Sarah Crockett has joined Designer Brands Inc. as chief marketing officer (CMO) of DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse. 

In her new role, Crockett will lead the brand’s marketing and advertising initiatives across the retailer’s 500 U.S. store locations and its online store DSW.com. In her new role, which begins on June 6th, Crockett will report directly to DSW president Laura Denk. 

Crockett joins DSW from Nature’s Sunshine Products. She has also held senior marketing roles at VF’s Dickies, Backcountry.com, Burton Snowboards and Vans.

Her appointment comes as the retailer reported a .6% increase in net sales to $746.6 million for Q1. In the report, CEO Doug Howe, revealed plans to invest in marketing and digital. 

“Moving forward, we will continue to prioritize our strategic commitments to revitalize our assortment, elevate marketing, and enhance the in-store and digital experience, while exploring areas to further rationalize our cost base appropriately, streamline our operations, and drive greater efficiencies,” said Howe, in a statement. “We believe that we are on solid footing as we enter the summer months and are pleased to reaffirm our guidance for 2024.”
