- Verizon is the official telecommunication services sponsor for FIFA World Cup 26 and is using this position to tap into some iconic soccer star power.
- David Beckham, Tim Howard, Alyssa and Gisele Thompson, Hirving “Chucky” Lozano, Sergio “Kun” Agüero will star in the brand’s FIFA campaign “Verizon Ultimate Access to the FIFA World Cup 26.” The talent will star in ads, collab on merch, as well as be present at the brand’s activations leading up to the games. The brand created the effort with the agency the community.
- Verizon is also offering giving away free tickets to the games and the chance to win on-field viewing access during the tournament.
Verizon is rolling out the runway for its participation in one of the biggest sporting events in history: the FIFA World Cup 26. The event is the first World Cup hosted across three countries (the United States, Mexico and Canada), the first with 48 teams, the first time it will take place in 16 host cities including Mexico City, Miami and New York.
“The World Cup is the biggest sports event in the world and the fandom is unlike any other. We knew we wanted to deliver access and experiences to our customers that are once in a lifetime,” said Leslie Berland, chief marketing officer at Verizon, in a statement. “Our customers will get access throughout the World Cup – Beckham-style, with surprises, events and giveaways along the way.” Customers can enter to win free tickets from Verizon beginning October 2 through the My Verizon app and Verizon Access. Ticket drops will take place throughout the road to the FIFA World Cup.
