Former PepsiCo CMO Todd Kaplan is joining Kraft Heinz as the chief marketing officer of North America. He will start the role August 5th.
In his new position, Kaplan will help lead marketing across the company’s $22 billion food and beverage portfolio in North America. He will oversee the portfolio which includes more than 50 brands including: Heinz, Kraft Mac & Cheese, Oscar Mayer, Velveeta, Philadelphia Cream Cheese, Lunchables, Ore-Ida, Capri-Sun, Jell-O, Kool-Aid, Maxwell House, Grey Poupon and Cool Whip.
Kaplan is tasked with elevating Kraft Heinz’s creativity and innovations, as well as forging a deeper connection to culture across Kraft Heinz. He will also guide the North American Growth Office and the company’s Kraft Heinz’s in-house content studio, “The Kitchen.”
Kaplan served almost two decades at Pepsi and is credited with reenergizing the Pepsi brand and PepsiCo’s sparkling water business. He helped bring the brand back into the cultural conversation with the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show platform and product innovations such as Nitro Pepsi and Pepsi x Peeps. He also led the company through a rebrand, debuting a new Pepsi logo and visual identity system for the brand globally.
Kaplan is part of the Brand Innovators Advisory Board.
