November 2017 Tim began his role as SVP Advertising Sales, Americas. Based in New York, he is responsible for advertising revenues for all BBC.
Tim started his media career in London in 1999 working for Fox Kids before joining the BBC in 2001 working in an advertising strategic role for BBC World News TV. During Tim’s 23-year career with the BBC, he has held senior roles focused on driving revenue both nationally and internationally for the BBC based in Canada, Singapore, Australia, and the UK working across sales, business intelligence and business development disciplines.
In April 2007, Tim was appointed as Head of Business Strategy-Global at BBC Advertising where he was responsible for commercial strategy across advertising sales. This included BBC World News TV and the commercialisation of the digital news service BBC.com.
In April 2013, Tim was also appointed to the position of Regional Sales Director, Australia & NZ which further entailed outlining the commercial strategic vision for the BBC News services in the region. Following this Tim was appointed to VP-Global Business Intelligence and Strategy reporting into the EVP Sales to further shape BBC Advertising’s direction across products and global markets based in London. Further to this, Tim was appointed to Sales Director Singapore, and VP Digital Canada to lead on sales and strategy for BBC Advertising in both countries.
