Scott Swartz is Vice President of Target Creative, Target’s in-house agency responsible for shaping and executing the brand’s marketing and creative expression. He leads the overarching creative direction of the Target brand, guiding a multi-disciplinary organization focused on delivering cohesive, culturally relevant work at scale.
Scott oversees three core teams. Campaign Creative drives integrated storytelling across major brand moments, partnering closely with internal stakeholders and external agencies. Retail Creative brings the brand to life in physical spaces while developing and evolving more than 45 owned brands—several generating over $1B each in annual revenue. Integrated Creative leads content across Target’s digital ecosystem, including editorial experiences on Target.com and the app, as well as social channels, where Target ranks among the most followed big-box retailers on TikTok and Instagram.
Over his 20+ year career at Target, Scott has led high-impact campaigns across style, holiday, and back-to-school, and has been instrumental in delivering standout creative collaborations—from designer partnerships to exclusive music initiatives.
He joined Target in 2006 as a Senior Art Director. Prior to that, he co-founded Ricochet Design, a multidisciplinary design studio.
