Ruben Leyva holds the position of Senior Vice President, Artist Services and Premium Content, US Latin, and is located in Miami. He oversees various commercial services that support the artist roster, such as Business Development, Merchandising, Synch and Licensing, Catalog, distributed labels, Premium Content, Production, and Planning.
Ruben joined Sony Music in 2003 as Vice President of Sales for the U.S. Latin label and quickly rose to the position of Managing Director/President, which he held from 2008 through 2011. During his tenure as President of the US Latin label, Ruben was responsible for signing marquee artists such as Pitbull, Romeo Santos, and Daddy Yankee as well as overseeing an artist roster that included Shakira, Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, Thalia, Chayanne, Victor Manuelle, Calle13, and many more top Latin music acts.
Ruben is a Grammy award winning producer. He has worked on projects such as the grammy award winning series on HBO ‘En Letra De Otro’ and the grammy nominated Romeo Santo’s King of Bachata documentary. He also worked on Gloria Estefan’s Sangre Yoruba documentary for PBS, as well as many other projects.
