Peter “Pete” Jung, an executive leader with more than two decades of experience in global marketing and brand strategy, is the Chief Marketing Officer of NASCAR. In this role, Jung leads the company’s award-winning marketing department in expanding brand growth and attracting new fans to the sport through strategic initiatives and innovative programs that deepen NASCAR’s relationship with customers.
Since joining the company in 2014, Jung has grown engagement across younger, diverse audiences while repositioning the most iconic brand in motorsports through multicultural marketing strategies, integrated partnership campaigns, and athlete promotions. Other notable successes include spearheading NASCAR’s first rebranding initiative in 40 years, launching a new data-driven fan journey strategy, launching the first professional league fan rewards program, and creating a first-of-its kind youth program.
Previously, Jung was the Vice President of Global Marketing at Mastercard where he directed consumer marketing strategies across more than 40 international markets. Prior to joining Mastercard, he worked for Time Inc. and multiple agencies where he managed media and account planning for notable brands including TIME, Harley Davidson, United Airlines and American Standard.
A University of Dayton graduate, Jung currently lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife and children and enjoys travelling, and the outdoors in his free time.
