Melissa Christian is a marketing and strategy leader specializing in brand growth, customer engagement, and purpose-driven leadership. As the head of the Brand Building team at DICK’S Sporting Goods, she drives innovative national and local marketing strategies that grow customer value, increase sales across the business, and strengthen brand affinity for DICK’S private label brands and retail banners.
Melissa is passionate about using marketing as a force for connection, impact, and positive change. Throughout her career, she has been an advocate of women in sport, helping establish DICK’S partnership with the WNBA and leading the company’s viral response to the NCAA’s gender inequities during the 2021 NCAA Basketball Tournament. She also played a key role in launching CALIA, a women’s apparel private label, and growing it into DICK’S second-largest women’s brand.
Melissa is a graduate of Dartmouth College (where she Co-Captained the Varsity Swimming & Diving team) and received an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Since joining DICK’S in 2014, she has held several leadership roles, including Divisional Merchandise Manager – Kids’ Apparel, Head of Communications, and Chief of Staff to the CEO & Executive Chairman.
Beyond her corporate work, Melissa serves on the Board of Directors for Special Olympics Pennsylvania, where she chairs the Development & Marketing Committee. She is also the proud mom of three.
