Having joined the agency as Senior Copywriter in 2013, Matt was promoted to Creative Director in 2016, Deputy ECD in 2019 and ECD in 2021.
While at DDB, Matt has created award-winning campaigns for the agency’s roster of iconic clients and been a part of multiple new business wins. 18 months after Matt was appointed ECD, DDB Sydney was named AWARD Agency of the Year and won Gold at Cannes and a Grand Prix at Spikes Asia. Having spent time at iconic agencies in Sydney and London, Matt’s work has been recognised multiple times at shows including Cannes, D&AD, One Show, Spikes, NY Festivals, LIA Awards, AWARD, Adstars, Facebook Awards, AdNews Awards, B&T Awards, Ciclope, Creative Circle and Campaign Big. An active participant in the industry, Matt has tutored and judged AWARD School on several occasions, as well as judging the AWARD Awards, APAC Effies, BADC and Cannes Young Lions, and serving as a mentor for the Free the Bid program. In 2020, Matt was the sole creative listed on AdNews Top 20 Emerging Leaders list. In 2021, he was named the National Head of AWARD School, the industry’s famed course for aspiring creatives.And in 2022 he was named on Campaign Asia’s list of 40 Under 40 Leaders in APAC.
