Marcus Ellington is the Executive Vice President Ad Sales and Sponsorships at Sphere, a next-generation immersive entertainment medium that is redefining the future of live entertainment. Marcus leads a world class organization that is responsible for sponsorships and ad sales across Sphere’s assets, including the Exosphere – the venue’s fully programmable LED exterior that is the world’s largest LED screen and developing new brand-centric partnerships across the Sphere.
Marcus has worked in media and technology for 20+ years. He joins Sphere from Google, where he held various sales and partnership roles for over a decade with the company, most recently as Director of Americas Partnerships Solutions. Marcus was responsible for strategic partnerships across Google product areas including Ads, YouTube, Cloud, and Android. He also worked on Google’s Media and Entertainment Ad Sales team, where he oversaw a sales team responsible for building relationships, deal negotiations and ad revenue for the company’s largest media and entertainment partners.
Prior to joining Google, he worked at Interactive One where he led a business development and sales team focused on helping brands reach U.S. multicultural audiences. He began his career at CBS where he developed integrated marketing solutions for brands with some of CBS’ most exclusive content including March Madness, GRAMMYs and the NFL.
Marcus is a member of the 2018 class of NYC Television Week’s Top 40 Under 40 and a recipient of the Digital Diversity Network 2018 Impact Award. Marcus holds a BA in Communications from Temple University and is a graduate of Duke University’s Google Global Business Academy.
