Recognized in 2020 by PRWeek’s 40 under 40 list, Maggie Schmerin is currently Managing Director and Head of Global Advertising and Social Media at United Airlines. In this role, Maggie leads external advertising efforts for the company across TV, streaming, audio, out-of-home, print, digital, social media and emerging platforms. This also includes the oversight of more than 15 different social media accounts around the world.
Maggie joined United in 2017 as a company spokeswoman and Head of Brand PR. Prior to United, she was a leader in the digital practice with the communications marketing agency Edelman, leading account teams for clients in the U.S., Canada and the U.K.
Maggie has worked with a wide range of brands including Shell, Kellogg’s, Mars, Procter & Gamble, Samsung, LVMH Moët Hennessy and Heineken.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Maggie is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University.
