Kara Walker

Kara Walker is a marketing professional with nearly 2 decades of experience in professional sports and nonprofit marketing and communications. After graduating from Ithaca College as a Park Scholar, Walker began her career as Ticket Operations Coordinator for the Boston Celtics. After 14 years and several strategic marketing titles including Vice President of Marketing & Content Strategy, she left the organization in 2021 to join Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island, where she is Chief Marketing & Communications Officer. Walker’s team handles branding, storytelling, advertising, email marketing, social media, event programming, and all communications. The mission driven work and endless storytelling opportunities fuel Walker’s passion for connecting with her audience, and getting to work with an incredible community of supporters keeps her engaged. Walker is a wife and mom of Liam, 5, and Mattie, 4, who are both proud to have a mom that helps kids who are sick.
