Emily Griffin - Brand Innovators

Emily Griffin

Senior Vice President, Marketing and Brand, Detroit Lions

Emily Griffin is the Senior Vice President, Marketing & Brand for the Detroit Lions, overseeing all brand and consumer marketing operations for the Club. She and her team drive innovative strategies to create new Lions fans, and bring existing fans closer to their team through live events and entertainment, content, retail promotions and engaging programming.

Recently, she played a key role in the design and launch of the Club’s new uniforms – a multi-year project in partnership with the NFL, Nike and Riddell. She is also serving as Co-Chair of the 2024 NFL Draft marketing committee, where the Lions have multiple activations including a 9,000 square foot immersive experience and a retail pop-up.

Under her leadership, the Lions achieved the NFL’s top ranking in Game Entertainment for the 2023 season. The same year, Emily led the design and rollout of the team’s new on-field alternate helmet, and the creation and unveiling of a monument to Barry Sanders at Ford Field – the first of its kind for a former Lions player or coach.

Emily joined the Lions in 2014 after three years in the agency world helping brands, most notably Coca-Cola, extend the activations of their sports sponsorships in to the digital space. She began her career in sports marketing with the Detroit Pistons, working with some of the team’s largest sponsors for three seasons.

Emily is a native of Southeastern Michigan and an avid sports fan.
