Alia Kemet is the Chief Marketing Officer of Shipt, a service-obsessed retail technology company, connecting customers to delivery from stores they know and trust. At Shipt, she oversees all areas of marketing including brand and culture, creative, experience strategy, consumer insights and growth.
Recognition of her leadership approach and expertise in waking brands up extends far and wide; Kemet has garnered honors like inclusion on the 2024 Forbes Entrepreneurial CMO list and AdAge’s Leading Women Class of 2021. She was also named Adweek’s 2021 Brand Leader of the Year.
Alia joined Shipt in 2022, bringing decades of marketing expertise from previous positions at McCormick & Company, Ikea, Whole Foods Market, and Nike. She holds several leadership and service roles within the advertising industry including the National Advertising Review Board, Brand Innovators National Leadership Council, and University of Maryland Flex MBA Advisory Council. She is actively involved in community organizations including Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc., Girl Scouts Council of America, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and is a member of the Maryland Food Bank Board of Directors.
She produces her own personal podcast: Phenomenal Grit –Career Conversations for Women of Color and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Howard University.
