- Pizza Hut is bringing back its heart-shaped pizzas for another Valentine’s Day promotion and using the Backstreet Boys to drive the point home.
- The singing group’s Nick Carter and Howie Dorough are creating a series of social spots that tie the band’s hit “Shape of My Heart” to the pizza.
- Among the segments is a generational showdown in which Carter and Dorough debate the heart-shaped hand gestures of Millennials and Gen Z. The spot ends with them agreeing to follow their hearts and share a slice.
The promo celebrates both Valentine’s Day and the 25th anniversary of the band’s album “Millennium,” which the band is also celebrating with a residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas. For its part, Pizza Hut is offering a medium, one-topping Heart-Shaped Pizza starting at $11.99 through February 22.
The Backstreet Boys are experiencing quite the pop culture resurgence of late. They appeared in T-Mobile’s Super Bowl ad, and their song was featured in Coinbase’s commercial as well.
Today is Brand Innovators’ Pizza Hut Summit, where senior marketers, commerce executives and growth leaders will come together for a day of candid conversation about how modern brands can build meaningful, data-driven relationships at scale.
