Pizza Hut gets ugly with “Triple Treat” promo

  • Pizza Hut is bringing back its “Triple Treat Box”, which includes two one-topping pizzas, breadsticks and a dessert, for the holidays and adding an ugly twist. 
  • The QSR is also debuting a themed onesie outfit inspired by the Triple Treat Box’s packaging and the holiday season. The outfit was created in collaboration with Tipsy Elves. 
  • The brand claims the onesie, available online for $89.95, is a perfect option for National Ugly Sweater Day on December 19. 

The company is producing only 150 holiday-themed jumpers, modeled on the Triple Treat Box’s design. The brand has also worked with tipsy elves on a few other items, including a sweater that substitutes a slice of pizza for a Christmas tree. Pizza Hut is promoting the party box’s return with a video commercial saying people can “holiday as hard as” a man who causes chaos by bringing a reindeer to a holiday party. 

“Pizza Hut is all about feeding good times, and knowing our fans love to go extra hard for the holidays, the Triple Treat Box is designed to fuel those moments,” said Melissa Friebe, Chief Marketing Officer at Pizza Hut, in a release. 

Pizza Hut’s promos of late have been centered around off-the-wall ideas that reflect the culture. The brand recently jumped on the “6 7” craze by offering deals on its pizzas on November 6th and 7th. It also launched a campaign aimed at Millennials for its flatbread pizzas, featuring an “Adultzz Only” theme and offering five-foot-high pizza towers to couples getting married as “After Pizza Cakes.”
