Ore-Ida hits the slopes with branded skis

  • With winter sports about to be a focus of attention during the Winter Olympics, Ore-Ida is making its presence known on the slopes, introducing a line of branded skis.
  • The skis, created in partnership with Fischer Sports, feature an image of Ore-Ida’s crinkle-cut fries running tip to tail against a “ketchup-red” background. (Because, as everyone knows, fries need ketchup.)
  • The skis will be available in five lengths in Mountain Shop and PK’s Skis and Sports locations in Oregon and Idaho (the states from which Ore-Ida takes its name), as well as on Amazon. They will also come with a two-year warranty.

Ore-Ida’s presence on the slopes isn’t as strange as it seems. Many downhill skiers know “French Fry” as the term used to teach beginners how to move from a “pizza” wedge to the more advanced parallel stance.

“French Fry Skis are a fun, unexpected way to take our golden, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside fries from the frozen aisle to the frozen slopes and celebrate a moment every skier remembers,” said Claire Lukaszewski, senior brand manager, Ore-Ida, in a statement.

Ore-Ida will show off the skis at X Games 2026 in Aspen Snowmass over the weekend of January 23. Attendees will be able to demo the skis and taste some of the brand’s products from an on-site food truck and at some of the area’s restaurants.
