- Turkey Hill is introducing a new line of premium ice creams to its offerings designed to appeal to consumers’ desire for personal indulgence.
- The new product, “Late Night Ice Cream,” will be featured in a New York City pop-up store on July 21, also known as National Ice Cream Day.
- The seven new flavors, which include flavor mix-ins and swirls such as chocolate chunks, cookie crumbs, caramel and peanut butter cups, will retail for $3.99 and be sold in one-pint containers.
According to the company’s research, 94% of ice cream eaters have their treats either after dinner or late in the evening. The moniker “Late Night Ice Cream” is meant to lean into that indulgence and point out that “cravings do not have a curfew” and that the products should be enjoyed guilt-free, according to Brittany Smith, director of Marketing at Turkey Hill.
“Our premium Turkey Hill Ice Cream paired with decadent pieces and delicious swirls is the ideal offering to satisfy Late Night cravings,” Smith said. “We thought the name should reflect as such.”
To further reinforce the idea that the treat can be enjoyed at any time, the brand will take to the streets of the City that Never Sleeps on National Ice Cream Day (July 21) with a pop-up store in the East Village. Between the hours of 6 p.m. and midnight, the store will offer free product samples
“The East Village in NYC is a vibrant, awake at-all-hours neighborhood, filled with college students cramming for exams and residents coming home from a night out, all looking for the same thing – a late-night snack,” Smith said. “We wanted to position Turkey Hill as the ‘extinguisher’ to late-night cravings just as they hit.”
At launch, the seven flavors included in the line extension will be: Ultimate Cookie Overload, Cherry Chocolate Chunk, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, Brownie Batter Cookie Dough, Buttery Southern Pecan Pie, Salted Caramel Dark Chocolate Espresso and Mint Chocolate Cookie. They will be available at retailers including Food Lion, ShopRite, Giant Food Stores and Turkey Hill Minit Markets beginning in July. Concurrent with the NYC pop-up store, the brand will also have Late Night-branded merchandise, including t-shirts, pajama pants and magnets at the Turkey Hill Experience in Columbia, PA, Smith said.
