Frito-Lay brands are counting down to the Super Bowl

  • Frito-Lay has started the countdown to the biggest snacking day of the year – Super Bowl Sunday – and is challenging consumers to see if they can stop the clock to win a trip to launch the confetti for the game. 
  • Through January 27, fans can visit TasteOfSuperBowl.com or scan a QR code on the back of specially marked Frito-Lay snacks, including Tostitos, Cheetos, Doritos and Lay’s to see if they can stop a countdown clock at exactly 5.90 seconds (in honor of this year’s game being Super LIX). The promo will also include an in-store component in select grocery stores.
  • To help out, the company has enlisted former NFL running backReggie Bush to provide tips about using agility, precision and speed to stop the clock at just the right moment. 

Fans who stop the virtual or real-life countdown clock at exactly 5.90 seconds will unlock a sweepstakes page that will enable them to enter for a chance to launch the confetti at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans on February 9. 

In addition, Tostitos will set up a free immersive experience during the weekend of the Super Bowl on the streets of the French Quarter. Through the “Chips and Sips Quarter,” people will have a chance to enjoy free food and drinks, win prizes and participate in experiences that marry New Orleans culture with the Super Bowl. Bush and other NFL legends will also make experiences, according to the company.
