- Little Caesars is offering a bit of something for everyone with its “Fantastic Four-N–One” pizza tie-in with the upcoming Marvel film release, “Fantastic Four: First Steps.”
- The pizza, available for $7.99 for a limited time, comes with four topping sections: Cheese, Pepperoni, Italian Sausage & Bacon and Jalapeno. Each section will offer two slices.
- The brand’s tie-in with the film will also include a television spot featuring Giganto, an iconic monster from the comic book team’s history, collectible pizza boxes that, when combined, create a movie-themed design and a partnership with Fandango to offer ticket discounts to see the film in theaters.
“It’s a big deal for us,” said Greg Hamilton, Little Caesar’s chief marketing officer. “We don’t take partnerships like this lightly. We’re excited to partner with Marvel Studios directly on this and to bring it to life.”
To promote the tie-in, the company will debut a commercial written and produced by Marvel Studios’ Marketing Partnerships team and directed by Kasra Farahani, who served as the production designer on “The Fantastic Four: First Steps.”
The spot features a fictional Little Caesars employee, dressed in vintage clothing to match the retro look of the film, describing the pizza while being dragged back and forth across the screen by an unseen entity. That entity, it is later revealed, is Giganto, an iconic monster from the Fantastic Four comics that appeared on the cover of Fantastic Four issue #1.
“We know we have passionate fans and [so does] Marvel,” Hamilton said, “Tapping into a partnership with Marvel allows us to introduce our brand to people who haven’t had Little Caesars for a long time and it shows they can get.”
Along with the pizza, which will be available to order online beginning June 16 with the national promotion beginning June 23. The company created four different pizza delivery boxes that, when combined, create a Fantastic Four-inspired design.
“From what we’ve seen in the past, customers get excited about new and different boxes, and Marvel fans get excited about things that are new and exclusive,” Hamilton said. “The fact that this is new and exclusive to Little Caesars is something that they’re going to be excited about collecting.”
Finally, the chain has partnered with Fandango on a promotion through which customers who purchase $20 or more between through August 10 will receive a code on their receipt for $4 off a ticket to see the film in theaters. For those who do catch the film, it’s likely they will spot some other Little Caesar’s assets in the film as well, Hamilton said.
