- Kraft Heinz is bringing the taste of IHOP syrups to grocery store shelves with the introduction of two new products under the restaurant-chain’s name and brand iconography.
- The two syrups, IHOP Original and Butter Pecan, are part of Kraft Heinz’s Taste Elevation platform, which is designed to increase flavor enhancement and represents 41% of the brand’s global portfolio.
- The product introduction was born out of research indicating that breakfast from home is a cherished meal for a majority of consumers. However, they do not feel they can create a “craveable experience” unless they go out.
“We wanted to bring the iconic taste of IHOP’s beloved syrups to consumers’ homes, making it easier for them to enjoy their favorite breakfast flavors anytime,” said Danielle Coopersmith, associate director of marketing at Kraft Heinz. “With IHOP selling over 400 million pancakes a year, we knew there was a strong desire to recreate that experience at home, and indulging in a variety of IHOP syrups is an integral part of that experience.”
As evidence for demand, Coopersmith cited instances in which consumers purchased gallons of syrup from the chain’s restaurants to take home. The company began with the Original and Butter Pecan flavors as they are fan favorites, but Coopersmith left the possibility open to other flavors hitting store shelves in the future.
