Kickstarter drops ‘Power of Belief’ campaign

  • Crowd funding site Kickstarter has launched a new brand campaign based on the idea that Kickstarter  makes creative projects possible.
  • The “Power of Belief” effort promotes the idea that believing in bold ideas is the conviction needed to get creative made.
  • The month-long effort will run out-of-home placements across New York City, as well as a digital hub. The media includes: digital taxi tops, digital kiosk screens, a media truck that will drive through the city, as well as a digital ad in Times Square.

As the creator economy takes off, Kickstarter is focused on growing its awareness to both its massive community of creators, as well as to consumers that invest in their projects.

The  “Belief is human” effort promotes the brand’s core mission of people backing people and helping creators turn ideas into action. The dedicated digital experience for the campaign will feature a selection of stories from creators who believed in their idea and brought it to life through Kickstarter backers. This includes: indie artists Candi Jenkins, Kisi Apaak and DJ Tjani Warren.

“Power of Belief is inspired by what we’ve seen on Kickstarter every day for almost two decades,” said Courtney Brown Warren, chief marketing officer at Kickstarter, in a statement shared with Brand Innovators. “Before something becomes a success, before it even gets funded, it starts as just a thing someone believed in. Millions of creators and backers know this. We wanted to make sure the new generation of creators and backers knew it too. We know so many young people are looking for places where they can feel hopeful, where they can feel a sense of agency, where they can still believe that they have the power to shape the world around them. This campaign is for them.”
