General Mills ice cream brand Häagen-Dazs was co-founded by Reuben and Rose Mattus in 1960 and the brand has been leaning on the influential role their female co-founder played in the company’s heritage to celebrate women who don’t hold back.
In March, the brand kicked off the second year of “The Rose Project,” a global initiative to acknowledge Rose and the important role she played in the business and celebrate the next generation of women entrepreneurs by giving them the chance to win one of five $20,000 grants to fund their entrepreneurial projects.
“We are delighted to continue celebrating our iconic female co-founder, Rose Mattus, by recognising the achievements of inspiring and deserving women from all corners of the globe,” said Lory in a statement, shared with Brand Innovators. “It is an honor to have such a powerful and global panel of influential women on board, all of whom are trailblazing within their respective fields and embodying Rose’s influence. We are confident that Katie, Sania, and Alejandra will help us select five worthy winners to receive an equal share of this year’s $100,000 bursary grant. We can’t wait to continue championing the stories of unsung female heroes.”
