GoDaddy helps entrepreneurs get going with AI

  • GoDaddy is launching a multi-pronged marketing campaign showing how its new Artificial Intelligence tools can help entrepreneurs and small business owners do more and grow their businesses.
  • The campaign is designed to raise awareness of the company’s new GoDaddy Airo tool, which uses generative AI to help budding entrepreneurs develop their business idea, create a logo, build a website, and other tasks to help them get the idea off the ground.
  • The campaign will include television commercials, social marketing featuring real GoDaddy customers, and a social media Leap Day activation, highlighting how much can be done with the extra 24 hours the extra day brings.

AI doesn’t necessarily have to be a job killer. It can be a valuable means to an end, particularly when it comes to launching a new business. GoDaddy’s new campaign and Airo product showcase how easy it is to get a business website up and running within minutes.

“Every business owner has a vision for what their small business can be,” said Rachael Powell, senior director of marketing at GoDaddy. “Getting to that future is a journey filled with highs and lows, and a number of steps they’re not exactly sure how to take.”

The television campaign depicts different ideas coming to life as the entrepreneurs use GoDaddy. In one commercial, for instance, a woman sits in front of a computer at her kitchen table. When she types her business idea – nocturnal animal candles – into GoDaddy’s prompt, she is immediately provided with a web domain, “Night-Dwellers.com.” The background behind her changes into an inventory room, and as she picks her new company’s fonts and colors, the product packaging on the shelves behind her changes accordingly, while GoDaddy’s Airo tool generates product descriptions from scratch. The spot ends with the young woman entering her new brick-and-mortar establishment, which is bustling.

A second spot in the campaign depicts a mother-daughter team using Airo’s AI tools, which “creates a logo, website, even social posts, in minutes,” to grow their hot dog cart into a food truck.

The video campaign will run on linear TV, OTT, YouTube and TikTok, with a media buy targeting “anyone who wants to start a business or take their business to the next level,” Powell said. “They may just be getting started, or they may be looking to build their first website after years as a successful store owner,” she said. “If a new or existing business wants to grow, it can quickly get plans and recommendations through GoDaddy Airo features.”

In addition to the television commercials, the brand is launching a social campaign in which real GoDaddy customers discuss their entrepreneurial journeys. One execution features Rahiem Thompson, founder of a company called Roletape, expressing how his full-time job may be as a developer, but his passion and side hustle is video production.

Finally, the campaign will include 15-30-second teasers on Instagram and Facebook, with messaging that asserts budding entrepreneurs can use the extra 24 hours to get their business off the ground thanks to Airo’s AI tools. “Leap Day presents a unique opportunity for us to capitalize on a once in four years moment,” Powell said. “For a small business owner, everyday matters. Leap Day gives them an extra 24 hours to invest in growing their business. We’ll be extending the Power Your Future campaign in unique ways on this day, encouraging small business owners to make the most of the day.”
